I'm just an old piano though I've had many homes
Through the years I've been handed down and I've played many songs
There are lots of notes still to be played and songs I haven't sung
As long as I can hold a tune I hope I can play on

A boy at home in 1910 he practiced every day
He played with me for years and years before he moved away
He sold me to a church and there I played many hymns
On Saturdays the Sunday school would come a practice them

In 1934 the church sold me to a man
He took me to his family and there I played with them
I stayed with them for years and years until I was alone
And them another family came and took me home

I'm just an old piano though I've had many homes
Through the years I've been handed down and I've played many songs
There are lots of notes still to be played and songs I haven't sung
As long as I can hold a tune I hope I can play on

The family I lived with then had a small boy named Jose
He'd come and sit in front of me and play songs everyday
And now I live in Riverside and try to write new songs
And half the time I get it right and half I get it wrong

I'm just an old piano though I've had many homes
Through the years I've been handed down and I've played many songs
There are lots of notes still to be played and songs I haven't sung
As long as I can hold a tune I hope I can play on
